The Crystal Palace Sprint recalls the glory days of racing under the shadow of the 1950s TV transmitter mast. Following the highly successful return of the event last year, 2011 saw another Bank Holiday weekend of sprinting on this twisty circuit. The event is run as two one-day sprints with around 100 competitors each day. Cars ranged from the 1929 Bugatti Type 35B of “Stormin” Norman Goodman, commentator for vintage cars at the Brighton Speed Trials, via a freshly-built Viva GT “Gerry Marshall” replica race car, to the striking le Mans-styled 1000cc Stohr race car which set BTD both days
Superbly organised by the Sevenoaks and District Motor Club, this is a great event that combines a beautiful location, relaxed atmosphere and a huge variety of historic & modern cars. One of our favourite events of the year!
