Timo Bernhard set a new Nordschleife lap record of 5:19.546 in the Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo. Unshackled by race series restrictions, Porsche has taken the 919 on a media tour and has, in the process, broken Stefan Bellof’s record set back in 1983 in the Porsche 956 C. Bellof’s time of 6:11.13 stood for 35 years but was comprehensively smashed by the 919 which peaked at 369 Km/hr – 229 mph in old money
